The DS is poised to throw up yet another must-have title, with Namco announcing a revised Dig-Dug offering, by way (as usual) of Japanese gaming Weekly Famitsu.

Right now the Japanese text promises a mixture of old and new, with original Dig-Dug and Dig-Dug 2 combining in a 3D world. Though annoyingly that’s about all we can glean right now.

Tentatively titled Dig-Dug: Digging Strike, the game is slated for release in Japan on the 8th of September this year. Check the forum below for scans featuring some natty game screens and of course, let us know if this rings your nostalgia bell.
