PlayStation in Europe: Q1 2006
Reeves makes bold claims.

Speaking at the Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association games summit in London this afternoon, Reeves took it upon himself to tackle the thorny issue of when European gamers and retailers can expect to see PS3 hardware and games on shelves.
"I like to think the PS3 will launch in Europe around the same time as Kutaragi-san has already mentioned - spring 2006," he said, hinting that for the first time ever, SCEI is actually planning a global hardware launch.
Although gamers and retailers may scoff openly at the idea of a launch so soon (especially given the nine months wait for PSP) perhaps we might see a change in SCEI policy to the benefit of us all.

You know Sony could end up with egg on their faces, big time. Their stupid delay with the PSP launch is now going to get sandwiched by Xbox 360 and if this is all correct PS3 too.
While the PSP is sweet with some nice games on the way soon, who in their right mind will spend almost £200 on it, when you could save that money and buy a 360 or PS3 a few months later?
If this happens I'd seriously say it's all over for PSP, due to Sony's mismanagement DS has won the handheld war. The DS is cheaper, out earlier globally and it's best looking killer games are now coming out.
Due to a different kind of gaming DS won't get overshadowed as 360, PS3 and Rev find their way into our homes. (have I said this before?)
Good luck with PS3 Sony, you'll need it.

Is there any reason why we would trust, on the subject of launch dates, the company who told us the PSP would be out in Europe in March?
Just as the "PSP in March" bull was designed to make us wait for PSP instead of buying as DS, this is designed to make people wait instead of buying a Xbox 360.
Of course, I will wait, I have plenty of toys, and PSP will keep[ me happy for the winter. But I'm not expecting PSP to make land in Europe until November 2006.

A lot of shops near me now have "coming 1st September, preorder yours now!" signs up for PSP. So far, so few preorders; people see it, see it's shiny, see the name and for some silly reason thing it's a portable PS1. Oh yeah, having Wipeout plastered all over it isn't helping. The fact the advert for the new Xbox is next to it probably further erodes it.
I can't see PS3 launching any time soon. It's a lot of manufacturing, and they're trying to get loads of PSPs made, so how can they? The Ubisoft Q3 2006 seems most sensible, as it shows them having to wait for the manufacturing queue to quieten.
