Animal Crossing Looking a Cert For Revolution
Producer touts possible Wi-Fi DS link.

An online interview by IGN with Katsuya Eguchi sees the Nintendo design lead state, “The reason why we created the Animal Island was to give something for people to take with them on the Game Boy Advance. Maybe with the DS we'll do something similar between the DS and Revolution.”
As you may be aware, Animal Island, home to the sacred coconut tree, is unlocked in the original Animal Crossing when the E-Reader is connected via the Game Boy Advance to the GameCube. Sounds a little convoluted, we know, though we can tell you setting sail for the little island is one of the more magical moments in Nintendo gaming and one that comes highly recommended.
Of course, the wider picture sees the DS, complete with its already fully functioning and totally awesome Wi-Fi system likely to communicate in a serious way with the Revolution. The ways in which one may use the DS within a Revolution game - controlled of course by the ingeniously kooky magic pad - boggle the mind, seeing the dreams of previous and somewhat cumbersome portable-to-console links fully realised.
Oh Nintendo, we really do love you. We'll bring you more on this as it breaks.

Your loss.
Part of Animal Crossing's genius is in it's simplicity and sense of humour.
