If the phrase 'light punch, light punch, tap forward, light kick, fierce punch' leaves you lying in a darkened room underneath a glowing katana symbol rather than a little bemused, you'll be more than pleased to hear Capcom's latest plans for the Street Fighter series.

Exclusively for PlayStation 2, Street Fighter Alpha Trilogy is, as you would imagine, all three games from the Alpha (or Zero if you happen to be Japanese or a bit pretentious) series on a single disc, meaning there's yet another frustratingly irresistible retro Capcom title on the must-have game list. And why not? You're excited, right? Good. If this were an infomercial, right now the screen would flash and you'd hear the immortal line, 'But wait! There's more!' because there is, actually, more.

Should you plump for this never before combined set of games right now, you also get two additional games thrown in free! The adorable, fluid and downright sexy Alpha 2 Gold is included, as is Gem Fighter Turbo, also known as Pocket Fighter in Japan... and pretentious circles.

Street Fighter Alpha Trilogy, confusingly comprising five titles, will be available in the US in late summer this year – no mention was made of any release outside of America at time of going to press.

Dammit, if there's a SF collection we need in u.k/eu it's this one, and if we don't get it it's a tragedy. We missed SF3 and DMC: SE on PS2, so what's stopping Capcom denying us this too.

Fingers crossed we do get it though, SFA2 is the best SF before SF3. A sweet collection indeed.

Now where is the Vampire Saviour collection, Capcom?
