Leaked EGM report full of holes.

Apple to Introduce iGame Portable Gaming Device?
An article in Electronic Gaming Monthly’s April 2006 issue details Apple’s soon-to-be-released gaming device iGame (see scan, pictured here). The EGM report is not presented to readers as a rumour, and the magazine states that the iGame is set to be introduced at this May’s E3. Whoa!

However, dig a little deeper and the iBubble of excitement is quickly popped. EGM, so it would seem, is well known for its ‘hilarious’ April Fools jokes, including the side-splittingly funny one about the Sheng Long code in Street Fighter II, and the ‘we-pissed-ourselves-it-was-sooooo-hilarious’ Wind Waker pre-order bonus trick. Damn.

Taking this into consideration, as well as the fact that many of the details presented in the article are clearly wrong - such as the claim that there will be firewire on the iGame device when Apple are phasing out firewire connectivity on new models of iPods - we have to take it with another large pinch of salt.

Oh, and there is also the small matter that Apple traditionally let Steve Jobs make new product announcements after months of speculation and rumour in the tech sector, so it's pretty doubtful that they would leak out news of this magnitude via some half-arsed games rag.

For the full, daft saga – worth reading for the sense of growing excitement only to be followed by the crushing realisation of the truth – check it out here.

I dont think Apple are interested in joining the handheld market, plus if my Ipod mini is anything to go by then it will be crashing all the time.
Anyway that design would be incredidibly uncomfortable to play.
