Gizmondo Boss Sees 2nd 'Stolen' Car Impounded
Stefan Eriksson, convicted liar and mobster and former executive officer of Gizmondo, has suffered another high-profile automotive blow as his wife's $400,000 Mercedes SL McLaren is impounded in Beverley Hills on suspicion of being stolen.

Eriksson's wife, Nicole Persson, 33, was stopped by police who found the European plates on the car unusual. It turned out Persson had no drivers' license of any kind. Police then contacted authorities back in the UK who asked for the car to be held as it might well have been stolen.

Of course, Eriksson drew some fool-heat to his playboy antics last month when he smashed his $1,000,000 Ferrari Enzo to pieces on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. Speaking exclusively to SPOnG, police in California mentioned there was reasonable evidence to suggest the Enzo was stolen - an astonishing run of shame for the man widely believed to have pulled off one of the biggest scams in recent gaming history.

“There are a lot of questions about ownership [of the Ferrari Enzo]”, police told us at the time of the smash. “I have the Bank of Scotland telling me they own it. He brought this car and another Ferrari and an SLR Mercedes through customs. They're all show cars – they're not street-legal. So there's issues there but that has to do with crimes elsewhere and they're probably more financial.” Read our rather tantalising scoop here.

In an interesting twist, Eriksson has since claimed that he works as what the LA Times describes as “...deputy commissioner of the police department of a tiny transit agency in the San Gabriel Valley.” The paper states that following the Enzo smash, “...two men arrived at the crash scene, identified themselves as homeland security officers and spoke to Eriksson at length before leaving.”

As to how a notorious, convicted gangster believed to have pulled off what police offices have called on record “The Gizmondo Caper” could have any ties to any official governmental body in any county is a mystery belying reason.

Eriksson is expected to face deportation proceedings as, if police expectations are met, he'll rack up two misdemeanour charges: one for driving while intoxicated and one of filing a false police report negating any hope of a Greencard.

There is a lot more to this. As was the case in the wake of the Enzo boob, stay tuned to SPOnG in the next day or so, as its influenza-ravaged staff will again bring you the freshest information direct from LAPD.

If Mr. Eriksson is reading, please get in touch. We'd very much appreciate an interview with you as secretly, we think you're the most radical man in gaming ever. We have three conditions, however: You take us for a spin in the remaining Enzo, you answer our questions about Gizmondo, which your former employees desperately want bottomed, and you promise not to kill us. We're absolutely serious.
