Seems that police finally caught up with Stefan Eriksson, the infamous convicted liar and mobster and former executive officer of venture capital gaming swiz Gizmondo, who recently totalled a $1,000,000 stolen Ferrari Enzo in a high-speed, alcohol-fuelled crash in Malibu – you can read SPOnG’s coverage of that story right here.

Eriksson, 44, was arrested in his swish Bel Air home yesterday, Don Manumaleuna of the local sheriff's department told Agence France-Presse earlier today.

This follows on from another incident in which police in Beverly Hills seized a British-registered Mercedes from Mr Eriksson's wife Nicole Persson on March 28, after questions arose over the ownership of both that vehicle and the totalled Enzo.

Sgt. Phil Brooks of Malibu Sheriff's Department explained to SPOnG back in February, about what he referred to as ‘The Gizmondo Caper’: “I've gotten just about everything on him. The previous prison time, the $290,000,000 or maybe it's a different figure, the Mafia ties – even on some of his colleagues. Believe me, I've been taking calls from London, Sweden, everywhere on this.”

Sgt. Brooks also told us at the time that, “There are a lot of questions about ownership [of the Ferrari Enzo]. I have the Bank of Scotland telling me they own it. He brought this car and another Ferrari and an SLR Mercedes through customs. They're all show cars – they're not street-legal. So there's issues there but that has to do with crimes elsewhere and they're probably more financial.”
