My XBox is a trojan already. Among other things, it contains chocolate flakes, salt and bombay mix. And it's partially coated with peanut butter and chilli sauce too, due to its proximity to where i eat. Bu tthen, my XBox is so big, wherever i eat, the console always suffers. I'd rest a mug of tea on it if it had a flat top.

Does any one else put/drop interesting things in their XBox? Anyone have any stories about food-console interaction?

I once pulled out of my girlfriend and ejaculated on the top of My Dreamcast. Just so I could say I had done it. Now I'm more civilised, with a Naomi processor in my wallet at all times.
Really.

Surprise! MS wanna take over your household. Many had those same thoughts when MS announced they were entering the games industry, and I too found myself questioning their motives.

While Sony told us of their intentions MS chose to hide theirs, different stokes for different industry folk. Xbox Live has done well for them and at the moment MS seem to be doing a better job (in the living room and online), however that could easily change in the next gen round.

One point is clear, if Xbox2 does get out of the gate first, lots of people will be holding on for Sony and Nintendo, especially if Nintendo enter the online arena and Sony sort out the Play online service woes for PS3.

You were meant to be talking about the synergy between wanking/eating and videogames!

Spong, GIVE ME A BREAK. Your making a big hype out of nothing. Yes Microsoft promised that they would focus on games for the XBOX. We knew from day one that was a shallow promise. At least they did what they promised for the first system. As technology gets cheaper why not add other functions to there system. As long as they can make awesome games I don't care how many functions it has. BTW weren't you all the ones that said that there were going to be 3 systems? well if that was true WTF are you making us jump around for?

The following "news report" was more of an editorial spliced with some news.

As for the trojan horse comment, unless that trojan horse is a bomb or the black plague I think its safe to say life will be ok.

Final comment, if my toaster plays better games than a console I will play with my toaster more. Video games are about entertainment and silly hype and rivaly are petty.Mircosoft and Sony are smart by including popular forms of entertainment into one system because in the near future, consoles as we know them may cease to exist.

Are you really saying you didn't see this coming?

Microsoft, arguably the company with no morals or concept of competition, just wants ownership of digital media as it currently has the PC market.

This means everything must come from and be vetted by Microsoft and choice will be removed.

I'm betting that people will buy the Xbox 2, get locked into an M$ upgrade cycle while Nintendo goes out of business and M$ aquires Sammy, Namco, Capcom et al and will then moan about only having a Microsoft choice.

There's a simple answer: Don't support Microsoft in the first place. Don't buy their products and give them further control of other industries.

Mircosoft have done good for the PC, but cannot do any good for any other industry. They seep into and slowly kill everything else.

This still stands.
Stop crying.
And for the record, this is the first time this has been openly acknowledged by MS and is *massive* news.

Meh. Not really news. If everyone saw it coming, you could hardly call it a "stunning catalogue of lies" - unlike every Sony release shipping unit figure ever...

You said X-box has great games? and a lot of fun?
what are you going to play from now on after Halo 2? Konker? pleeeaase; Jade Empire? jajajaja, ok, may be KOTOR II, but what else? and the next year what? are you going to wait 12 months for the X-BOX 2? Ithink they arnt going to launch good titles next year so that you can save the entire year to buy their hyper expensive-do-it-all-console. I expect exellent graphics for their next console, but the lack of good games is almost assure, history talks.
I am tired of waiting months for a good game ( I have an X-Box too), it wasnt the best deal to buy that multy function do it all/nothing good machine.
I think X-Box is alive thanks to the publicity investment, and the immodest score reviews that some editors write, expecting to be hired in a microsoft company?
Ill wait for the PS2 and revolution. And by the time the X-Box 2 is launched, ill rather buy Final Fantasy XII and Legend of Zelda.

That's a good point. Some magazines and sites are heavily bias towards Microsoft and give even poor games wonderful scores and other better games poor scores.

Eg. Games Domain gave Halo 2 10/10 and Metroid Prime 2 8/10. Now I'm sorry, but MP2 is better than 8/10.

Easy tiger, you can remove your teeth from my arm now.

If you don't agree just say so, why and be done with it.

Yes there is room for humour but yours is lacking a bit today, come back on stage tomorrow.

admitedly i havent played metroid 2 so this is as much as questiona s a statment but... isnt it liek exactly the same a the last one? like graphics and game play wise? it sure doesnt look any different from what ive seen. Halo2 is vastly improved in many ways over the first (with soem peopel not lieking alot fo the changes admitedtly). point being when you make a sequel to a game in my opinion it needs to offer somethign more than just more of the story. games arent movies, unless you made the perfect game the first tiem there are things you coudl do to improve the wya it plays as well as continue the story. looks like metroid 1.1 to me. Playign halo 2 compared to the first is amazing, playign metroid 2 after playign metroid 1 is just more of the same which when we are talkign about a 2 year old game, just isnt that exciting. Yes its good, but so was the first one, where did 2 years worth of work go? just level design?

as i said i could be talking out my @ss (in respects to game play at least) but metroid is not the only example. Infact most games that receive sequels on the same system are guilty of this (not counting sports games of course, which i expect that kind of thing from).

uh well first of all i was playign halo one multi player untill about 2 days before halo2 came out so that halo2 shoudl be abel to keep me entertained for the next year on its own. secondly yes, conker is great, i barely got to play the first one and the multi player also looks fantastic. then there is the new splinter cell wich will be on xbox before the other 2 systems. And just incase i get real desperate i do own more than oen system so i will be joining you for some zelda when that does finaly come out. Then there is the mirad of other good games, doom3 with co-op onlien play, jade empire (which yo ulaugh at for some reason even though KOTOR was like best game of 2003). So maybe the best game for the system is out already, i have enough comming out in the next few months to keep me happy, and there is plenty more behind it, there are always some good games at the end of a consoles life cycle, soem you might not even expect. Conker was originally just suppose to be the same old cute stuff rare always did and then they realized they where beating a dead horse and just went to town with it. Which lead to one of the best games for that entire system comming out in the final year of its existence, alof of peopel didn't even bother with it cause they already had dreamcast or where waiting for their ps2's or whatever.

As for the article, which is what we are supposed to be talkign about anyway, i think it is a little over done but i don't perosnaly care. I know M$ wants my buisness, and you know what? if they make a good product, they will get it. I like the xbox more than ps2 because i think the ps2 was a poorly designed over priced turd. If your worried about M$ takign over everything we need to not try and protest them as stopping all use of M$ software isnt something you coudl orgize well (the linux people , who hate M$, have been protestign them for years). The US government needs to regulate monopolizations liek that better. I for one am glad i get a web browser with my operating system cause it would be a real bitch trying to download firefox if i didnt already have IE on there. And besides, custom sound tracks are great, if i coudl swap mp3's with peopel while im playing halo with them and record the simpsons all at the same time with 1 piece of hardware (media center pc's anyone?) then horay for me! Next thing you know people are going to be suign M$ for makign them fat cause there xbox3 makes them sandwiches so they dont have to get up.

i've said to much....

Well, I have a tale of Home Appliance-console interaction.

Whilst inebriated round a friends house, I was trying to replace whatever was plugged in the scart socket of my mate's TV with my xbox A/V cable. The TV was a mighty beast - a 32"" 80's Hitachi juggernaut - and getting to the socket at the back was proving problematic. In my head the cabinet it was at least a foot deeper than in actual reality. What followed was a wretched scene. It toppled, but not even my ninja-like reflexes and grizzly bear strength (like I said, I was extremely "refreshed") could prevent it hurtling towards my beloved xbox. I was convinced my box had bitten the dust, it seemed slimmer somehow, and the TV's screen had an almighty crack in the middle. We squashed and cracked it back into shape, and clicked the on button. Booted up first time, and no problems since. Miracles do happen!
