Having pre-ordered my console online with GAME on August 18th of this year, and subsequently been informed that I won't be getting one as there aren't enough, I am finding it hard to believe that there are 300,000 people in Europe more deserving and/or with more foresight than me to have pre-ordered before August 18th.

Conclusion : 300,000 consoles is a bag of lies or GAME have seriously cocked up.

Well, I don't think this is a centralised allocation system such as the one Sony ran for the PS2.

The XBox 360 allocations are so many for each country, split by retailer, split again by store. It may be that your store is only getting 20 units.

Much more believable that you were beaten by 20 people than 300,000.

Much more likely is that GAME are a set ot thieving dog-shaggers who will happily take your money and f**k you over given half a chance.

I have this idea that stores where getting more units than internet sites... not sure where it come from though.

I pre ordered mine from Game in Cardiff, as it's the closest games shop to my office. They where going to do a midnight opening but then cancelled it due to security concerns...?

A friend keeps telling me their friend who works at GAME said they get 80% of UK stock. I still think they've been fed total lies. After all, said person also said it was 70/30 Core, when MCV reported the opposite...

I'll pop into John Lewis on the day. If they have them, great; if not, end of January for my birthday it is.

You might want to try WH Smith and Woolies to ;) I doubt many people will be going there to buy a 360.

Let us know about your preorders. Who has what - what's happened etc...
Has anyone been forced to buy a bundle?

The word is that if you pre-ordered a 360 in GAME with a £20 deposit, you are pretty much guaranteed one. However, if you ordered online on or after August 18th, then you're out of luck.

If you don't think this is fair (like me), just vote with your cash and don't shop in GAME.

I got a phone call from GAME on saturday saying that they where getting my pre-order packages together and asking if I would be interested in one of their bundles but I wasn't forced into getting one.

So I ordered PGR3, PDZ, COD2 and a Play and a Charge kit

personaly i was a bit miffed to realize the wireless controllers dont come with the rechargable batteries and instead jsut take double A's.

so for four controllers i have to pay 20$ for a P&C and then 12 each for 3 more batteries... makeing a total of 56$ more to get things really up and running. that more than the price of another controller!

the P&C wire shoudl really be included with the delux system.

Wow. That's a lot of extras to buy. Question: You can still buy extra wired controllers, correct?

I haven't really looked into getting one, as I was planning on waiting...once I found out about the 399 price tag.

I don't need wireless, especially if it doesn't have rechargables. So...long, pointless post put short: you CAN buy extra wired controllers, right?

yea, they are all over the place... but i have to say, as much as the initial investment killed me... it was worth it.... having the controlelrs so easily put away... the console left sitting there no wires hanging off it... power on and off through the controller.... for me a big part of the next gen-ness of the whoel thing is just the unwired and downloaidng demos and vids and extras and geometry wars is as good as everyoen says and im rambling... anyway, if you can afford it, wireless all the way, its fantastic! im going ot bed, its too ef-ing late!
ta

p.s. just beat condemned, my personal reco for first day, unless you are hard core on the driving thing. its got its flaws buts its just such a great experience.

No wires in the front, a s**tload of wires and power bricks in the back. Microsoft sure hides their fat well.
