The PS3 Slim is a rumour, absoloutley no fact. Sony has already confirmed there is absoloutly NO chance of a PS3 Slim and they have NOTHING planned, and they have also confirmed that they have no knowledge of the system shown in the pictures.

Please refer here to the full details:

I guess it could be something else entirely, but with the PS3 logo on the unit I would guess it was just an apalling attempt at a fake, but seriously the quality was lacking so much how could anyone believe it to be real in the first place xD

The whole thing reaks of desperation, me thinks these so called lawyers are appointed by the possible fabrication plant, very doubtful Sony would handle it this way, or i at least hope not else i have lost the little remaining respect i had for them.

also @ Mog, how many times has a rumor been flat denied only to be proven true days later?, dont believe everthing you read and dont dont belieive everything your read, it all needs a pinch of salt.

They do exists! It does exist!

It's gotta be legit...SONY is probably pissed that the big surprise got busted a bit early.

I think its more to the fact though that they can't actually afford to put out a re-design, and what would be the point in doing so anyways just as the PS3 sales are starting to accelerate.

Sony just reported their first net loss in 14 years, at a sum of 1 billion USD, so why would they spend countless amounts more money on something that is already selling and doing the job anyways?

I think you can say pretty safely that there is no PS3 Slim on its way within the next year, maybe even 2! There sure as hell isn't going to be a PS3 Slim emerging at E3 next month.

lol, Spong, seriously... Put the images back up, this is ridiculous. lol.

The document looks pretty fake, and why would a Law firm that deals in Immigration law be contacting you about Trade secret infringements?

Here is the link to Li Mo & Associates web page:

You seriously think Sony would employ these to cover up anything about a PS3?

They use g-mail as their primary business e-mail for christ sake! And also they don't even employ anyone under the name "James Lan"

Spong, rest easy!

@Mog so why let the legal dogs off the leash?

all that does is make it look like you've got something to hide.

the right way to address a rumour is the engage us and outlets, not get all legal on our asses

whatever happened to the "relations" bit of pr?

Spong did nothing wrong, and even removed pictures upon request simply by hosting already posted images of a possible redesign, does not mean spong did anything wrong, who ever pictured the images did nothing wrong, unless they were under contract to keep it a secret, you can’t legally enforce distribution of pictures unless its legally protected prior to distribution, show me one court case where a company has successfully pressed legal charges against a media company for pictures of a post production electronics device!!

@haritori

No I completely agree with you, the second these pictures hit the public domain they became public, LevelUp placed them up, as far as it seems they would be the first.

Spong has done nothing wrong, but wish them good luck either ways, these things can always turn sour very easily.
