2,500 Modern Warfare 2 PC Players Ban Hammered

What about Xbox 360 cheaters? Do they plan on doing anything about that? I'm getting ready to sell my game and buy the PC version if they continue to cater to PC gamers?

If MW2 had dedicated servers, there would be less problems with cheaters and lag, and it will also make the game more compatible with competitive leagues, especially ones with certain rules on equipment.

At least with servers the admins are able to kick/boot and enforce fair rules and players will be able to join said servers with pings that are best matched to their internet connection. I think it's safe to say the two most-complained-about things about MW2 is the cheating, and the lag.

I'm using my online gamer tag because I think that this point needs to be driven home (if you want a game give me a search). I'm an okay fps gamer. Got much better on MW2 but for weeks I couldn't fathom how these people were so good that they were already at level 70 level 10 prestige. Then, like someone above already mentioned, I saw a chopper gunner kill cam and the speed and accuracy he took out the entire team before killing me was unbelievable. If IW.Net had admins this problem would be avoided as these people would receive a ban. It's not fair that I bought this game and play by the rules to find that I get hammered by one gimp with aimbot.

The WORST thing however is the cheek of these cheaters that say they don't cheat and are just that good, then turn round and moan at you for using a gl or the acr or the 1887s. The guns are there for a reason and like many people on the game, I try to mod all my guns for the added xp. Been a casual player since the day the game was released. Since then I have managed to get to the second level of prestige and I'm currently a level 34. I wouldn't say I'm good, far from it, but better than these hacking cheats that have no morals.

Another annoying thing are the cheaters that put in the level 10 prestige patch by following youtube videos and when you play them they're pure s**t. Yet they have all the guns, all the mods and still can't beat me. Complete bulls**t IW.net need to pull their finger out pronto!

IM FED UP ASWELL BEEN REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS GAME ...AND NOW I PLAY IT FOR 10 MINS THEN TURN IT OFF WITH ANGER I WISH I NEVER BOUGHT IT IM GUTTED ...... I WISH THEY COULD BRING SOMETHING OUT TO BAN EVERY CHEATER'S SERIAL KEY .... THEN THEY HAVE TO PLAY FAIR....

I have thought about buying MW2, but after reading about people getting banned for activating the ingame console I changed my mind.
Infinity Ward is pretty much going 'ignorance is bliss' on the community.

Every third game there is a wall hacker or rank hacker. I have never seen a ban or kick, the cheating continues... it is march 20 2010 and people are still hacking walls and consoles. Dedicated servers would solve the problem for the most part, and i still have read no reason why they were not included. slack and crap. ill make my own games.

Like everyone above has said or felt that hackers or cheaters are getting on peoples nerves mostly i've heard about the aimbots and silent modded controlers is there nothing IW can do about this? I think there sould be IW players in public games to watch over what people are doing. The IW players should find some hackers fast because lately i've seen a 10th presteige in just about every lobby in just about every game type. It looks like a lot of posts about people getting sick of modern warfare 2 and IW LISTEN HERE if people boycott the game I'm guessing that the map pack will take in less money then IW has expected. But that's just what I'm saying... and almost every player playing these games. Well time to wrap this up listen or don't it's not gonna be our problem the buyers it's gonna result in IW's loss in Money and Players.

Unfortunately, VAC has regulations and steps before these hackers or cheaters can be banned. Patiently, PC gamers would have to wait until those measurements are meet before the elimination is established. Dedicated Servers would be a big plus but there are some "amatuer" players that can not support a high-level of competition (experienced gamers) and vote kick to ease their experience..

I think what Infinity needs to do in the future is to disable use of the program if it is hacked in anyway. Guarantee this and I believe their business would thrive. Playing against cheats and cheaters really spoils the game of Modern Warfare 2. It is very frustrating when you are armed with all the perks and players still see your tag behind walls and run right for you.... some even act out that they don't see you so not to be detected. Right now to correct what has gone wrong is going to be very hard unless a patch is released to protect players against cheats and cheaters...like a anti-hack program that forces the hackers program to crash when hacks are used....Infininity Ward please allow people with diginity and integrety to enjoy this great game. Make the hard decision now before you lose your game integrity.

Non-stop cheating has ruined the game. Every multiplayer level has at least one many have more than one. I was in a server that had 5 in a team deathmatch. They all admitted it and were arguing about where to ge tthe best hack with one guy bragging that he created his own and offered to share it with othe people. He was actually giving instructions during the game on how to do it.

I love how there are only about 50 games per game type. But i have recently noticed a bunch of people who are cheating by getting in a corner and hiding from the rest of the game....one guy lays a flare and the other shoots him. then they keep doing it so they spawn right in front of each other. This is complete BS. You can never win a game because of it cuz they keep getting more and more kills and then eventually get a ac130 or something or even a nuke! How can i report this to IW?

A person by the name "code" played today on one of the servers, i take he is south african as he typed in afrikaans"DUTCH". What can be done. This is utter BS! Steam and infinity ward etc needs to take care of this issue as its their product. Or else i have just waisted my money!! And to top it all, this oak tells me my weapon stuck out??? While i was not even agains a wall...Hmm, wtf ever dude. This makes me not wanting to play as it seems some people cant do it the hard ways so they cheat. Shame, life is hard....SUCK IT UP!!!

Is steam even banning hacks anymore. I know a few people who have been using the same f**king hack for like 4 months now. Its a free hack thats called "Catalyst'. This hack includes enemy name tags, and aimbot. I see almost 20% of the people on mw2 using this exact hack!!! Please dont ban me im just trying to get rid of the problem.
