Microphone port. Amazing huh? As you may well be aware, Nintendo has been playing something of a strange game of show and don’t tell regarding a port on the redesigned DS console.

The sagalette culminated in Nintendo representative Mitsuaki Hagishima, when asked about its use, saying, “It's a secret. It does look like you can plug something there, but not the stylus pen since that will connect to the back. We will reveal its purpose soon.”

However, leaked documentation landing in our in-trays overnight explains that the port is component “24 – Headphone / MIC Connector.”

Which begs the question, why not just say that in the first place? Thanks to www.cube-europe.com

Expect everything DS on the run up to launch, right here, as it breaks.

Duh... That's the old spec sheet which goes to show that it was NOT complete. Why would Nintendo keepa microphone port a secret if it already has a built in microphone?

If you bother to go looking here:

You will see that the DS does have a built in Mic, the port is a Mic socket for part of a headphones/boom mic rig. Now stop wildly speculating, it only causes rumours to spiral out of control and brings down hugely successful companies. BTW, anyone heard that Microsoft is selling off its Home Entertainment division? ;D

Dude, I am so like going to make an offer. Generally, a company is worth, what 10 times its gross profit. Since Xbox has lost, like, a gazillion dollars, that means Microsoft would owe me 10 gazillion dollars.

Drinks are on me.

No, really, I just spilt my martini.
