The PSP Go might look pretty nifty, but according to a couple of UK retailers interest is low and one may not even bother to stock it.

“From my point of view I’ve got to think, ‘Do I want to stock this?’ Right now I can’t see any justification for stocking it”, said Don McCabe, joint MD of Chips (which has 30 shops). He said that there was little interest, noting, "I don’t have a single pre-order for PSP Go at the moment.”

Asked whether Chips might decide not to stock it, McCabe said, “It’s a distinct possibility at the moment. If suddenly I get a wealth of pre-orders then I’ll reconsider my position, but right now I would have to say that it’s not our intention to stock the product at this point in time.”

Chris Harwood, head of purchasing at Grainger (which has 21 shops), said, “We haven’t got any [PSP Go pre-orders] at all.” He said that the company currently only sells five PSPs a week.

He said the price, which is expected to be between £200 and £300, seems "really high, especially the way PSP’s going at the moment. The models they’ve got out now are struggling at basically £129, pretty much [the] cost price, which we’re putting them out at, and they’re not selling through at that."
