According to the Japanese newspaper, Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Nintendo is to produce a new DS, with a bigger screen in time for the 'the holidays'.

In fact, well actually in rumour, the new model "is the current DSi with a larger screen. The new screen size is over four inches, well above the current model's 3.25 inch size." Pricing is unlikely to change from the current homeland cost of ¥18,900.

Nintendo in Japan isn't confirming nor is it denying. It's saying of the newspaper piece, "We think it's a speculative article".

Nintendo is apparently also expanding its DS business into China and North Korea.
