Well, I'm hoping this one is true, I have enough trouble convincing people that SPOnG are on the money a lot more than they believe. Plus I want this sodding system in my hands ASAP and a the "traditional" Spring 2007 launch for Europe, that was looking likely, was way too far off.

For those doubting of the validity of SPOnG’s Nintendo reporting, just take a look at the past year of coverage;

We began 2005 with an exclusive one-to-one interview with NCL president Satoru Iwata. This was followed by another exclusive one-to-one with legendary games designer Shigeru Miyamoto. Since then, we have regularly broken some of the biggest Nintendo news this year, with Iwata’s GDC Zelda-revealing keynote being pegged, as was the final unveiling of the Revolution controller at the Tokyo Game Show, the slippage of Twilight Princess into 2006 and most recently, the as-yet unannounced Mario Paint DS, a piece that was widely and shamelessly plagiarised.

Odd then that many of the sites that will run a story broken by SPOnG without attribution, will in the next article call into question our credibility.

Don't worry, I'm not questioning you, per se. I often give people grief when they see that a story is from Spong and their response is, "Oh, Spong, will treat that as a total rumour then." On Revolution-Europe they had a story from Gaming Horizons about Mario Paint DS; when I pointed out that it was you that broke the story, and GH had failed to credit you as the source, the writer of the piece said how he would most likely downgrade the piece from "news" to "rumour". I asked him why he didn't question it, when he thought the news was coming purely from GH, I didn't get a response to that one.

Why is it that IGN dont have the story then? I would like to think this story is true and can believe it.
I sometimes think that IGN do not have their fingers on the pulse as much as they should, I thought journalism was 24-7, IGN seem to go days without any news when in fact there is.
I prefer to come to spong, even if the news turns out to be just a rumour at least it is something, and most times there is no smoke without fire.

I hope Nintendo will verify it's true this year.

But what happens if Nintendo delay it, afteral we're used to seeing 6 month delays from them (especially in Europe). I think we all know Spong will be called a liar, but I hope it's true, cause that would really show the nay-sayers PLUS I want my Revolution sooner rather than later :)
